Vacation Bible School (VBS)

JOIN US FOR AN AMAZING ALASKAN ADVENTURE WHERE NORTHERN LIGHTS GLOW OVER MAJESTIC MOUNTAINS, RACING RIVERS & GLISTENING GLACIERS! AS KIDS TREK THE TUNDRA, THEY'LL EXPLORE HOW EASY IT IS TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE TRUTH IN OUR WILD WORLD TODAY! POINTING THEM TOWARDS JESUS, TRUE NORTH VBS SHOWS THEM THAT HE IS A FAITHUL FRIEND WE CAN ALWAYS TRUST. HE'S OUR TRUE NORTH!

• Day One - John prepares the Way and baptizes Jesus. (Matthew 3, 11:1-6)
• Day Two - Jesus teaches about God's love for us. (Matthew 6:25-33, 18:12-14)
• Day Three - A Roman officer trusts Jesus. (Matthew 8:5-13)
• Day Four - Jesus dies and comes back to life! (Matthew 26:47-28:8)
• Day Five - Jesus gives the great commission and the Holy Spirit comes. (Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 2:1-12)

So many ways to help! So many volunteers needed!
Adults and Teens (completed 6th grade by June 2025) are invited to volunteer to help during the week of Vacation Bible School.  
To volunteer:

• Register as a VBS Volunteer using the link to the right
• All volunteers must be up-to-date on their Safe Environment requirements (see link to the right to go to the Safe Environment webpage)
• ADULT Volunteers must have a current Form D on file.
• TEEN volunteers must have current Forms A & B on file.

Volunteer positions available:

• TEEN Crew Leaders - Enthusiastic teens lead crews of 10 younger kids through the fun deep sea stations.
• TEEN Station Helpers - holding babies in the nursery, helping to prepare supplies, singing and dancing, acting in skits, guiding younger kids in activities. (See the list of stations below)
• ADULT Station Leaders and Helpers- Help create the interactive stations that the children will visit each day (Need for both PK and K-5 stations)
  • Sing and Play Peak & Compass Closing- Volunteers will lead the whole VBS group in songs, skits and activities to introduce and close each day.
  • Wild Bible Adventures - Dive deep into the Bible and help kids become a part of the Bible story.
  • Glacier Games - play high energy games to dive into the Bible Point or Bible story.
  • Tundra Treats - help prepare and present treats to all the kids that help illustrate what they are learning.
  • Sticky Scripture - lead kids to dive into God's word using multiple senses and how the word applies to them today.
  • Imagination Station - using science experiments and fun activities explore how the learning of the day applies to living as a disciple of Jesus.
• Adult Nursery Help - help our youngest participants (0-4) have a splashing good time while their parent volunteers.
• Adult Background Help - all the little tasks done behind the scenes
• Adult Spotlight Volunteer - take pictures of the participants in poses to help create part of our Compass Closing.
• Adult PK Crew Leader - help train our youngest teen crew leaders while they lead crews of PK from station to station.
• Adult Teen Room Volunteer - monitor the food and fun in the room where the teens get to take a break each day. 

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!            FAMILY NIGHT & PICNIC     THURSDAY, JUNE 5
Each year we showcase the fun that the kids are having with a Family Picnic Night!  This year, we will gather at 6:00 pm in the Main Worship Space to share with parents, grandparents and siblings all that we are learning at VBS!  Families are invited to join us for a picnic to start off the night sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters of America. Our parent presentation starts at 6:30.  

DRESS UP DAYS
We tend to get a little crazy and add fun theme dress up days to our time together.  This gets the kids hyped up and builds community.  Watch this space for our planned dress up days.

DONATIONS
We usually choose a local charity to gather donations and give to each year.  We have donated to Monsignor King Outreach Center, Loreto House and LovePacs.  If you know of a local charity that could use donations next summer, please reach out and let Andrea know.
 

WHO?
Participants are children ages 4 (by 9/1/2025) through CURRENT 5TH graders. 
Older children may volunteer using the link to the right.

COST
The cost of our VBS is $30 per child with a $90 maximum per family. (That means the fourth SIBLING and up are free to attend!)
Please do not let the cost be the reason you do not sign your child up!

REGISTRATION
Three Step Registration - Your child is registered when all three of these steps are complete.

1. Register (online preferred)
2. Pay
3. Fill out forms if needed- Children who were registered in our Formation programs for the 2024-2025 school year already have applicable forms on file.  All other children will need to turn in forms.

If you prefer paper registration, those can be picked up in the narthex or Faith Formation building 

STEP 2 - PAY (THREE OPTIONS)

1. Use the links provided in the right hand column on this page.  Please forward your received confirmation email to [email protected].
2. You may call (940)222-8081 to pay with a credit card over the phone
3. You may mail or drop payment in the church drop-box 

STEP 3 - FORMS MAY BE NEEDED
If your child was NOT enrolled in our formation programs for the 2024-2025 year, you will need a Form A and Form B completed and turned in for each child.  Please find both online and printable options in the column to the right.  Use [email protected] for email address entered on form.
