The Search Begins!
We are all searching for something. Why am I here? Will I ever be happy? What hapens when I die?
We find the answers to life's big questions when we wrestle with them in faith. In fact, the story of human history has largely been a story faith. We need a relationship with our maker — a relationship with life — to make sense of all of this.
THE SEARCH leads people to the deepest question of the human heart, exploring the meaning and purpose of life with a visually stunning and intellectually stimulating approach.

Why are we here? Where did I come from? What happens when we die?
Each of the 10 sessions are built around the stunning video series that systematically presents the big picture of the Catholic Faith. The videos are filmed on location in Rome, the Holy Land, and other religious locations. Following each video is a small group discussion to bring out the key points of the topic of the week. The course captures the beauty of the core teachings of the Catholic Faith with extensive cites to the Creed and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Two times are offered:
Thursday mornings - 9:00 to 11:00 AM
Thursday evenings - 6:30 to 8:30 PM
Sessions are Tuesday mornings 9 - 11 am or Tuesday evenings 7 - 9 pm. Catholic Way Bible Study begins a new book or books of the Bible each September and completes the 23-week study by the following Easter.
Sessions are in person and begin September 14. CWBS will be studying the Book of Isaiah.
In the 8th century BC Isaiah the prophet foresaw the coming of the Messiah as Suffering Servant and King. Through the Holy Spirit he saw the Gospel--The Good News-- of Jesus Christ, leading to his writings being dubbed “The Fifth Gospel”. The failings of the Chosen People brought on God’s judgement in the form of defeat and deportation. Yet all along the way the Father is comforting and upholding them--and us--and pointing to the hope of glory of the coming restoration in the messianic age and in the world to come.

Pope Francis has designated this year as The Year of St. Joseph. St. Mark will be offering a program entitled “Consecration to St. Joseph-The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father”. How well do you know St. Joseph? The person who consecrates himself to St. Joseph wants to be as close to their spiritual father as possible, to the point of resembling him in virtue and holiness. The program will help you learn more about St. Joseph and all the ways he can help you grow in your spiritual life, bringing you closer to his son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
The program is open to all adults in the parish, male and female. We will meet in-person at St. Mark once a week for six Tuesday evenings, 7:00 PM-8:30 PM, beginning September 7, 2021 and concluding on October 13 (Consecration Day).
Please sign up so we can order materials. Sign-ups are available here and in the narthex. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity to learn more about our spiritual father and to fellowship with our St Mark community. Please contact Kim or Tom Bonfield at 214-683-7119 or kbonfield229@gmail.com if you have any questions.
